Being Honest with God

I was just sitting at my desk on a beautiful Monday morning, doing my usual morning routine of sipping on a coffee while I journal, read the Word and pray. I was having a conversation with the Lord through pen and paper when these words began spilling out of my fingertips. It was one of those moments where the Holy Spirit spoke directly through me and onto the page. I felt led to publish these words for your eyes and spirit to read because I know how discouraging it can be living in this world. It is so easy to live by what we see in our day to day lives, forgetting to remember that there is a God who loves us and cares for us so deeply. Every little or big thing that we find ourselves stressing and growing anxious about is never overlooked by our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this encourages you today and builds your faith.

This is what I wrote down:

I guess what I’m realizing and understanding is that sometimes you have to just be real with God. You have to tell Him how you feel and what is hurting you. God is a gentleman, He wants to be welcomed into your situation. He loves you so much that He gives you a choice of how you will move forward with all your feelings, hurts and questions.

You have to ask yourself: “Am I just going to tell Him everything OR am I going to welcome Him into it to help and guide me through, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit?”

He is such a loving and patient Father that He is as good of a listener as He is a healer, provider, sustainer, redeemer, helper and deliverer. He will listen to all you go through but He ALSO wants to BLESS you, HEAL you, PROVIDE for you, DELIVER you, STRENGTHEN you, SUSTAIN you, REDEEM you, HELP you, and CARE for you! The mistake you may be making is this…

Are you letting Him do more than just listening when you speak?

Invite Him into what you are going through. Ask Him for guidance, the strength, the endurance, the vision, the provision for what it is you need! I want to encourage you today with this scripture found in Matthew 7:7-8 (AMP), it says “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.”

The Lord moves on the currency of faith, not just beautiful sounding words and phrases coming out of your lips. He is an always moving and working God. Just because you feel stuck, it doesn’t mean that God stops. When you begin to feel this way, it should remind you that you are not meant to do it alone, you’re not meant to carry the load all by yourself. He awaits you where you run out, He awaits you to reach for His hand to continue on. Remember, God is a gentleman. Even when you don’t have the mental or emotional capacity to go on, He is the beginning and the end. If He is the one who gave you the strength to begin in the first place, do not doubt that He will carry you to the end.

This is the perfect illustration of God’s everlasting, never ending, relentless love for you and I. It will never stop, it will never end and it will never give up.

Because God is love.
